What is defined as good?
People love to do what they think is "good" but how do we know what the good is? If you asked 100 people what they think is good you would get 100 different answers. When people commit a pious action they do it because they believe that the action will be seen as pious to God. However, the question is that, do we preform a pious action because God says its pious or is the action pious because we do it and we think that God loves it. I know that sounds confusing, but if you think about it it makes sense. To be honest I don't know if theres a good definition of what is pious and impious because we never really can figure out what God is thinking. I do know however that God has a plan for everyone and following that plan is what is in our best interest. Now can this plan be called our destiny? People say that you make your own destiny, but how can this be if God has an already made plan for us? Anyone have any thoughts about this?

I don't think that God has a set path for us, it's up to us to choose, hence the free will. But I do believe that there are certain things in our lives that we miss along the way, and God has a way for us to sort of push us in that direction for us to "see" whatever it is we're missing.
ReplyDeleteThe only destiny for me is being with God when it's all said and done, now the tough part is getting there and how to get there that we have to figure out.

Great thoughts. I think we know what is truly good knowing it comes from God, that's a whole new level or subject. I guess on feelings, faith, beliefs...I guess thats something we need to look into ourselves for, dig deep inside to learn who we are and what we were put on this earth for. I mean if things were spelled out for everyone to do and act, then we wouldn't be the individuals God intended us to be.
ReplyDeleteSo I figure we are here to look for that plan God has laid out, have the ability and free will to follow it. All along the way learning who we are and the people we are destined to be. Some may go astray but come back, sadly some go astray because they choose to.
What a world huh? Designed and created by Perfection, yet given to individuals with the free will to hopefully find the true meaning of life and what is good.
